The years 2020 and 2021 were probably the most boring and sad years for students all over the world, well except for the introvert ones. Online classes took away the actual fun of being in the physical classroom, meeting with your friends and have the time of your life before we all start the race of our adult life. Personally, I lost the last year of my school life and I can’t blame Covid enough. The last year of school for any student is the most exciting and bittersweet time, but this year, we were all stuck in our homes, in front of a screen, away from our peers. Well, it did have positive points as well, like not getting up at least an hour early for school or saving us the travelling time, but missing the joy and happiness of real school balances out all other good points.

It also affected the eye sight and health of children, as physical activity became limited and most of the time, the kids were in front of a screen. The confidence building in kids that happen in their lower standards also decreased as making friends and interacting with their peers was not happening like it used to happen in the old normal. Teachers too had a difficult time adapting to this new method of teaching. Many teachers I know are not that tech savvy and teaching hundreds of students via online mediums and handling their households proved to be difficult. But despite of all this, teachers tried their best to educate us. The students in rural areas, without access to the internet had the worst time of their school life, as when the other half of the students had started online classes, and some even tests and exams, they had not done anything. This is when we all realised the true power and need of internet and technology.
According to me, the Boards made a really good decision by not taking exams as this year had nothing but chaos and unhappiness for most of the students and this decision was hope of light at the end of a dark tunnel.
I hope that the next year is better for students and that we actually get to enjoy the happiest years of our lives. As school or college maybe hard, annoying or even irritating sometimes, but we definitely are going to miss it a lot after it ends.
